Billing & Cancellation

Last updated: October 7, 2026

How you're billed, what happens if a payment doesn't go through, and how to cancel. This page is part of our Terms & Conditions.

Prices and the introductory offer

Prices are in Canadian dollars. New customers get 50% off your first month on monthly billing or 50% off your first year on annual billing. After that, your plan renews at the regular price:

  • Lite: $10/month or $110/year (introductory price $5 for the first month, or $55 for the first year)
  • Standard: $18/month or $198/year (introductory price $9 for the first month, or $99 for the first year)
  • Essentials: $32/month or $352/year (introductory price $16 for the first month, or $176 for the first year)

Annual plans are priced as 11 months, so the 12th is free. Your order summary at checkout shows exactly what you'll pay today and at renewal.

Taxes

We add the Canadian sales taxes that apply to your billing province (GST or HST, and PST where it applies). We can't sell to customers in Saskatchewan, Manitoba or Quebec yet.

Automatic renewal

When you order, you authorize us to save your payment method with our payment processor, Stripe, and to charge it automatically on each renewal due date, at the regular price plus applicable tax, until you cancel. We record that authorization with your order. You can update or remove your card in your portal under Billing; removing your card doesn't cancel your service.

If a payment doesn't go through

This is the schedule, counted from the invoice due date:

  • Due date: we charge your card. If it fails, we try again, up to 3 more times, and email you.
  • 7 days after the due date: if the invoice is still unpaid, we suspend your service. Your website and email go offline. We email you when this happens, and you can pay to bring them back.
  • About 23 days after the due date: we email you a warning that your service will be cancelled in about 7 days.
  • 30 days after the due date: if it is still unpaid, we cancel the service and its data is deleted: your website files, databases and email. We can't get them back. (Copies in our hosting provider's backups are overwritten within about 30 days.) You still owe any unpaid amount.

Price changes

We may change our prices. We'll email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to one of your renewals. If you don't want the new price, you can cancel before the renewal.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. Send a support request from your portal, or email support@hostmoose.ca from your account email address, before your renewal date. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your service keeps running until the end of the term you've already paid for, unless you ask us to end it earlier. We'll confirm the date by email.

  • If a renewal charge goes through within 3 days after you asked us to cancel, we'll refund it.
  • Going offline, deleting your website, or removing your card is not a cancellation. Please send us the request.
  • When service ends, your data is deleted (website files, databases and email). Download anything you want to keep before then.
  • Cancelling one hosting service doesn't close your other services or your account.

Refunds

New customers can get their hosting fees back within 30 days of ordering. See our Refund Policy.
