Security & Vulnerability Reporting
Help us keep HostMoose secure
This page explains how to report a security problem or abuse. It was last updated October 7, 2026. For the legal terms, see our Terms & Conditions.
🔒 Our Commitment to Security
We take security seriously and we appreciate the help of the security research community in protecting our customers' data. If you find a security vulnerability in HostMoose's own website, customer portal or billing systems, we want to hear from you. Your websites and email are hosted by CrocWeb on servers in Montreal; if you find a problem that appears to be with that platform, tell us and we'll pass it on.
📧 How to Report a Vulnerability
What to Include
Please provide:
- • Detailed description of the vulnerability
- • Steps to reproduce the issue
- • Potential impact and severity assessment
- • Any proof-of-concept code (if applicable)
- • Your contact information for follow-up
⚠️ Responsible Disclosure Guidelines
We ask that you:
- •Give us reasonable time to investigate and address the vulnerability before public disclosure
- •Avoid accessing, modifying, or deleting other users' data
- •Do not perform actions that could negatively impact HostMoose services or our customers
- •Make a good faith effort to avoid privacy violations and service disruption
🚩 Reporting Abuse
To report spam, phishing, malware, copyright infringement or other abuse coming from a website we host, email abuse@hostmoose.ca with the web address and as much detail as you can (for spam, include the full message headers). We investigate every report under our Acceptable Use Policy.
Security vulnerabilities in HostMoose itself go to the security address above, not the abuse address.
🎁 Bug Bounty Program
We don't offer a bug bounty program. We will:
- • Acknowledge valid reports and credit researchers (if desired)
- • Work promptly to address confirmed vulnerabilities
- • Keep you informed of our progress
